Strangely, some people don't like shooting intelligent opponents capable of adapting to the situation at hand, and prefer shooting at AIs or newbies.
My reaction to meeting one has always been confusion, despair and pity. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

Ms Kat wrote:Why pvp against aliances with unlimited backing who see thier ships as "throw away" with full reimbursement offered???? For fun.
Ms Kat wrote:The whole jump clone system is jsut bad!! It keeps the game fun and not tedious.
Ms Kat wrote:Implants and training time jsut bad!! Implants have some issues sure, but training time is a necessity for people to have goals to work towards. Also, the passive training system is easily EVE's strongest feature - I prefer being able to play a game on my own terms and maintain a life, rather than have to dump all of my free time into a game just to stay competitive.

I don't sit in a huge alliance that can hand out spare ships as if they were spare change. The loss of a ship would be very significant for me at the moment and set me back too far.
And of course, my implants. Dear God, my implants... if the loss of a t1 frig sets you back too far, i feel bad for you. I'm not really trained for Frigates. It is all Battlecruisers and up. Anyhow, even if I were to fly Frigates it would still leave my Pod at risk and as such my Implants.
1) You can't get skills up to par for a BC / BS without getting frigate relevant skills up to par along the way. T2 guns require smaller T2 skills, all core skills are applicable to all ships, etc.
2) Don't PvP in a clone that has implants. Only the rich and stupid do so. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

then again, you probably don't understand that just because i'm in test doesn't mean i get free ships thrown at me. i've never had a single ship reimbursed in nullsec regardless of what corp or alliance i've been in. not a single time.
In about a year and a half in TEST, I've had 2 ships reimbursed.
It's pretty hard to lose a ship in fleet warfare when you tend to be on the winning side, know when to broadcast for reps, and know when to align out away from the fleet.
Also, AFAIK, only Goonswarm reimburses solo PvP losses. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

The number of NPCs I have destroyed since day one literally went up 5x from that one mission and will probably stay there until the next time I accidentally accept a mission.
You've been playing a month with 1.2m SP. How can you either afford or fly a faction battleship?
Simple: he flies it very, very poorly and would be more effective in a thorax. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

Indeed I don't intend on flying it again for some time, I just needed something to finish that mission without declining. Is it possible to do a level 4 storyline with a Thorax? I was told that a newb in a t1 cruisers would get completely destroyed on Shipyard Theft. So i did what I needed to in order to not have to abandon the mission.
If you're smart and patient, you could run a level 4 in a well fit frigate.
It would be a very slow process however.
Point is, larger ships are very SP sensitive. Flying one with 1.2m SP is like flying 10% of one. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

It's misconceptions like this that keeps people in high sec and avoiding pvp. That being said, there is a niche for those who don't want to pvp. Not everyone can be the hunter. Some people have to be the prey. I understand where you're coming from but it's not a misconception. Not only will the differences in skills, ISK, ships and modules be totally unbalanced, so are the general skills of knowing what to do in a fight. This isn't like entering a fight in TERA, where even tho you've may never have PVP'd in TERA before, you've at least PVP'd in MMOS similar to it.
It really is.
TEST named a station after Evian Drinker after he accomplished some hilarious clutch moves in a battle which resulted in 3 Tengu kills.
